EPW - Antoine Coliau, Paris, verge fusee with calendar, 51mm, 18K gold (tested) OF original consular case, white enamel dial with winding aperture at 1:30, date numerals in red, KWKS, verge escapement, gilt mvt with pierced and foliate scrolled two-footed balance bridge, s#18M/J91. Gross weight of assembled watch 63.1 dwt (98.3 g). Antoine Coliau is listed in Loomes' "Watchmakers and Clockmakers of the World" as active circa 1786 to 1789, and this watch is marked internally with a date with an engraving of "Mondion Anno 1791" to its inner case rim under the bezel. Mvt: GRO, good calendar function, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, ultra-fine scratch striations to plates likely caused by wiping, some typical fine scratches; dial with hl from 1 to 4, small fracture at 11:30, scattered fine scratches, flake surrounding winding aperture; fine hands, metal break along hour; case shows little wear, shallow dent toward upper left of rear, very mild shallow dent to left central perimeter of rear; tight bow; good domed glass crystal.
